Nexera's AI content engine is powered by Claude AI from Anthropic: the same model trusted by leading enterprises for high-quality, reliable text generation. The AI is deeply integrated into the product editor, allowing you to generate descriptions, translate content, and optimise SEO metadata without leaving your workflow.
What makes Nexera's AI different from generic writing tools is product context awareness. When you generate content, the AI considers:
Product attributes: name, SKU, category, brand, variants, custom attributes, and pricing inform the output.
Existing content: if there is already a description in another language, the AI uses it as context rather than starting from scratch.
Brand voice templates: your custom tone, style, and terminology guidelines shape every piece of generated content.
Category conventions: the AI adapts its output style based on whether it is writing about technical outdoor gear, fashion apparel, or camping equipment.
All generated content is presented for your review before saving. The AI never auto-publishes, you always have final approval.
The most common AI use case is generating product descriptions. A single click produces a compelling, on-brand description based on everything Nexera knows about the product.
Open a product and click the AI button: Next to the description field on any language tab, click the sparkle icon to open the AI generation panel. If the product has minimal data, the AI will prompt you to add more attributes for a better result.
Choose a template or style: Select from your saved brand voice templates, or choose a built-in style like "Professional & Technical", "Casual & Fun", or "Minimal & Clean". The template controls the tone, length, and structure of the output.
Review the generated content: The AI generates a full product description, typically 100 to 300 words depending on your template settings. The description is displayed in a preview panel with a diff view showing what will change if you accept it.
Edit and save: Make any manual adjustments in the preview editor, then click Save to apply the description to the product. The original description (if any) is preserved in the change history.
The AI generates structured content that can include:
Main description: a flowing narrative about the product's features and benefits.
Key features list: bullet points highlighting the most important specifications.
Short description: a one-to-two sentence summary for product listing pages.

Supported translation pairs include any combination of Dutch (NL), German (DE), and English (EN). To translate product content:
Open the product and navigate to the target language tab.
Click Translate from [source language]. The AI takes the source content and produces a natural translation in the target language.
Review the result. The AI preserves all formatting, headings, bullet lists, bold text, and links carry over to the translated version.
Make any manual adjustments and save.
Translation quality is significantly improved when you use brand voice templates with glossary terms. The AI uses your glossary to ensure that key product terminology is translated consistently rather than using generic dictionary translations.
Terminology glossary
Set up a glossary in your brand voice template to ensure consistent terminology across languages. For example, define that "Waterproof" should be "Waterdicht" in Dutch and "Wasserdicht" in German, preventing inconsistent alternatives like "Waterbestendig" or "Wasserabweisend".
Translations do not overwrite manually entered content. If you have already written a German description by hand and then translate from English, the translation is shown as a suggestion that you can accept, reject, or merge with your existing text.
Every product page on your Shopify store needs strong SEO metadata to rank in search results. Nexera's AI generates optimised meta titles, meta descriptions, and URL slugs based on your product data and category context.
The AI generates three SEO elements per language:
Meta title: a concise, keyword-rich title under 60 characters that accurately describes the product. The AI balances keyword inclusion with readability.
Meta description: a compelling 150–160 character summary designed to improve click-through rates from search results.
URL slug: a clean, lowercase, hyphenated URL path derived from the product name and key attributes (e.g. alpine-pro-jacket-black).
To generate SEO metadata, open the product and click the SEO tab. Click Generate with AI to produce metadata for all configured languages at once. Review each field and adjust keywords or phrasing as needed.
The AI considers your product category when suggesting keywords. For an outdoor jacket, it might emphasise terms like "waterproof", "ski jacket", and "insulated", while for a fashion item it would focus on style, material, and fit.
Character limits
Nexera enforces search engine character limits in the editor. Meta titles are capped at 60 characters and meta descriptions at 160 characters. The AI respects these limits by default, so generated content is always within the recommended range.
Brand voice templates are the secret to consistent, on-brand AI output. Instead of getting generic product descriptions, you define exactly how your brand communicates, and the AI follows those guidelines for every piece of content it generates.
Each template defines:
Tone: professional, casual, technical, playful, luxurious, or a custom tone description.
Style: description length, use of bullet points, heading structure, and paragraph density.
Word preferences: words to use (e.g. "premium", "crafted") and words to avoid (e.g. "cheap", "basic").
Glossary: key terms with their required translations in each language.
Target audience: who the content is written for (e.g. "outdoor enthusiasts aged 25-45" or "fashion-conscious parents").
You can create multiple templates for different purposes. Common setups include:
Professional & Technical: Authoritative, specification-focused · Outdoor gear, technical equipment
Casual & Fun: Friendly, conversational, enthusiastic · Lifestyle apparel, accessories
Minimal & Clean: Concise, no-frills, feature-focused · Product listing pages, marketplaces
Luxury & Premium: Sophisticated, aspirational, exclusive · High-end fashion, premium lines
Create and manage templates from Settings → AI Templates. You can set a default template per brand or per category, so the right voice is applied automatically when team members generate content.
When you need to generate content for many products at once, such as during initial onboarding or a seasonal catalogue refresh, the bulk AI generation feature processes multiple products in the background.
Select products: On the Products page, use checkboxes to select the products you want to generate content for. You can also use the "Select All" option with active filters to target a specific category or brand.
Choose generation type: Click the AI bulk action and choose what to generate: descriptions, translations, SEO metadata, or all of the above. Select the target languages and the brand voice template to use.
Start the background job: Click Generate to queue the job. Nexera creates a pg-boss background job that processes each product sequentially, respecting AI rate limits and your plan credit allocation.
Track progress: Monitor the job in the notification panel. You will see a progress bar showing how many products have been processed, along with any products that were skipped (e.g. because they already had content in the target language).
Review results: After the job completes, review the generated content. Bulk-generated content is saved as drafts by default, so you can review and approve each product before the content goes live.
Credit consumption
Bulk AI generation can consume a significant number of AI credits depending on the number of products and the generation types selected. A full generation (description + SEO + 3 languages) for one product uses approximately 5 credits. Check your remaining credits before starting a large batch.
AI content generation is metered by credits, with allocations that vary by plan. Each AI operation (description generation, translation, SEO generation, or alt text generation) consumes one or more credits depending on the complexity of the output.
Free: 50 credits · ~25 descriptions
Basic: 500 credits · ~250 descriptions
Pro: 5,000 credits · ~2,500 descriptions
Enterprise: Unlimited · No limit
Track your current usage in Billing → Usage. The dashboard shows a progress bar for each metered resource, including AI credits consumed versus your monthly allocation.
Nexera sends automatic notifications at two thresholds:
80% used: a warning notification so you can plan ahead or consider upgrading.
100% used: AI generation is paused until the next billing cycle. Existing content is unaffected.
Credit reset
Exceeding your monthly AI credit limit will pause AI generation until the next billing cycle. Credits reset on the first day of each billing month. Unused credits do not roll over. If you need more credits immediately, upgrade to a higher plan, the additional credits are available instantly.
