Go to Settings, Team & Roles.
Invite a colleague with their work email address and choose a role.
Your colleague receives an email and signs in with a one-time code; no password needed.
Administrator: everything, including publishing, team and settings. For the person ultimately in charge.
Product manager: products, variants, categories and imports; the daily product work.
Marketing: content, SEO and AI tools; great with texts, without risk of accidents elsewhere.
Asset manager: the media library and image editing.
Read-only: viewing without being able to change anything; handy for an intern or external party.
There are more roles for specific tasks (such as supplier management and finance); you will see them when inviting.
Good to know
Only an administrator can publish to Shopify. Your team experiments freely while you decide what goes live. Roles can always be changed later.
