You can change your plan at any time from Billing → Plans in the dashboard. Plan changes take effect immediately for upgrades and at the end of the current billing cycle for downgrades.
When you upgrade to a higher plan, the change takes effect immediately:
Increased limits: your product count, storage, AI credit, and team member limits are raised to the new plan's levels instantly.
New modules: modules like Customer Portal, 3D Product Shots, and API Access become available immediately.
Pro-rated billing: you are only charged the difference between your current plan and the new plan for the remaining days in your billing cycle. On your next invoice, you pay the full new plan price.
When you downgrade to a lower plan, the change takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle:
Current cycle: you keep full access to your current plan features until the end of the billing period you have already paid for.
Next cycle: on the first day of the next billing cycle, limits are reduced to the new plan's levels.
Over-limit handling: if your product count exceeds the new plan's limit, excess products become read-only. You can still view and export them, but you cannot edit or create new products until you are within the limit. No data is ever deleted during a downgrade.
Data safety on downgrade
When downgrading, products exceeding the new plan's limit become read-only, no data is deleted. You can archive or remove products to get back within the limit, or upgrade again at any time to restore full editing access.
All billing is handled by Stripe, giving you a secure, reliable payment experience. View and download invoices from Billing → Invoices in the dashboard.
The invoice history shows:
Invoice date: when the invoice was generated.
Amount: the total charged, including any pro-rated adjustments from plan changes.
Status: paid, pending, or failed. Failed payments are retried automatically by Stripe over a 7-day period.
PDF download: click the download icon to get a PDF invoice suitable for your accounting records.
Each invoice includes a breakdown of charges: the base plan price, any pro-rated adjustments, applicable taxes, and credits applied.
Billing details
Set your billing email address, company name, and VAT number in Billing → Settings to ensure your invoices include the correct information for your accounting department. For EU businesses, including a valid VAT number enables reverse charge invoicing.
To update your payment method, click Manage Payment Method in Billing → Settings. This opens the Stripe Customer Portal where you can add or change credit cards, update billing addresses, and manage your subscription.
The Usage dashboard in Billing → Usage gives you a real-time overview of how much of your plan allocation you are consuming across every metered resource.
Tracked metrics:
Product Count: Total active and draft products in your workspace · Never (cumulative)
Storage Used: Total size of all uploaded assets in R2 · Never (cumulative)
AI Credits: AI operations consumed this billing period · Monthly (billing cycle)
Sync Operations: Number of product syncs to Shopify this month · Monthly (billing cycle)
Team Members: Active users with access to the workspace · Never (cumulative)
Each metric is displayed with a progress bar showing current usage versus the plan limit. The bar changes colour as you approach the limit:
Green (0–79%): comfortable headroom.
Amber (80–99%): approaching the limit. You receive an in-app notification and an email alert when any metric crosses the 80% threshold.
Red (100%): limit reached. The affected feature is restricted until the limit resets or you upgrade your plan.
When you reach a plan limit, the behaviour depends on the metric:
Product count: you cannot create new products but can still edit existing ones. Archive or delete products to free up space.
Storage: new asset uploads are blocked. Delete unused assets or upgrade your plan for more storage.
AI credits: AI generation is paused until the next billing cycle. Existing content is unaffected.
Team members: new invitations are blocked. Remove inactive members or upgrade to increase the limit.
Avoid disruption
Set up usage alerts early by ensuring your billing email is configured in Billing → Settings. Nexera sends notifications at 80% and 100% of each limit, giving you time to take action before hitting a hard cap. Consider upgrading proactively if you are consistently above 70% on any metric.
